Got my blog's layout changed. Its a little too blue for me. I am giving it a weeks time and see if the blue still bothers me. I have to say however, blogger.com template section sucks. Strange since Google is involved here.
On second thoughts, maybe thats the reason. None of Google products are too fancy on interfaces. They are just suppose to do what they have to do (and do a damn good job, I might add here). However, some of the other blogging sites that I have seen (wordpress for example) do offer excellent template solutions. I hope blogger catches up soon.
P.S : This blue is already bothering me much more. For the rest of you, please bear with me. Ha Ha Ha....who am I kidding....nobody reads this except me ;-)

Are you Happy...????
I just love the ClickJobs new ad. I can almost see me in it. Now, don't get me wrong. I am not happy (far from it) from my job. However, I like the guy's enthusiasm. He is up before the alarm clock ticks ,for crying out loud.
And then the killer tag line Are you ......HAPPY. Classic.
While we are at the topic of jobs, I completed a year this January.
So, the question is "Am I happy?".
Truth be told, I don't really know. I hate the work here. No, wait...I love the work..but the good work is few and far in between. Lately, the gap between work and no-work has started to be in months. The work is also mostly bug solving. I like bug solving, makes you think. However, the "makes you think" bugs are also very few and far in between. There are absolutely no features to work on.
I think....I was right the first time. I HATE MY WORK.
Which brings me to the classic question, which I am tired to asking myself, "Why am I here?".
I have a bond of two fucking years here, thats one.
My Team Lead is a fucking genius, thats two.
The bond thing is a non-issue for me. Although, I have been using it as an excuse for far too long. If you ask me honestly, I am a little scared as to whether I have lost IT. A year of doing nothing great can do that to you. I have done tiny tit-bits of projects (Network Simulators, Firefox extensions) on my own here but thats out of boredom than anything else. I just have to get into the groove of preparing for interviews again. This place is taking the wind out of my sails. I thrive on passion, on movement and momentum. Something this place seriously lacks.
Then why am I here?
Apart from the fact that I don't have companies lining up for me(but they will !!! ;-) , I have learned a lot from my Team Lead. He is super talented, super humble . Trust me on this. Just being in his company teaches me a lot. He is one of the major reasons I want to stay a little longer.

Orkut - Image of the century
Seen the new home page of orkut.
Well, if you happen to miss it ( fat chance if you are in India or Brazil), herez a little reminder.

Looks like a 10 year old just got up and decided to show his art talent to his mom.
Sorry kid!!! Get a new job because "art" aint it.
Its even more surprising when you consider the neat way Google manipulates its name on its home site to celebrate or announce an event.

Nokia - Conn (ect) ing People
My nokia Phone (N6260) is dead again.
God!!!! am so frustated
This is the last time am buying a nokia..ever...
The worst part is, I have to go through that whole loop again.
Morons at Nokia Helpline (Sec 1 , Noida) will tell me that this requires a Software change and so will format it again. So, they do a software reload and I must say..do a damn good fucking job of it. Works for atleast 15 days, and then kaboom. Whats frustating is that when I will take this phone down again, they will tell me the same thing again. Bloody, incompotent stupid little morons.
I want a handset change. Period.
I have mailed this to the Nokia care guys. Lets see what happens. I wish I was not stupid enough to fall for this phone (against my better judgment) in the first place.
Has costed me 12k and a lot of heartburn....nothing else.
You die Nokia...you'll burn in Hell.

Sleepy, Sneezy, Dopey…and Pluto?
Pluto might have been kicked out of the orbit by some crazed astronomers; Disney is still sticking to it.

Pluto the planet, 76, died Thursday in Prague, Czech Republic, when it was killed by the International Astronomical Union -- separated from the eight "classical planets" and lumped in with two similarly sized "dwarf planets."
No memorial service is planned, because it has been several years since astronomers considered Pluto a real planet.

Google AdSense Account Disabled
Today my google Adsense account got disabled (http://linuxlinks.bravehost.com) :-(.
The funny part is google gives no reason for this.
I wonder is it because the more google discloses the reasons the more people will find out ways to fool google and committing click fraud.
Something that google wrote really interested me.
The payout amount for google adsense account is 100$ i.e first you earn 100$ and then google will pay the amount. Though, in many cases , google does not pay even if you play there game honestly.
For me, it was zero investment zero return. So, it doesnt matter much. However, thinking of people who put actual effort and time into this, who have no money to host their sites on webservers and are dependent on money from ads to drive their costs, it must come as a real shocker to them.
Interesting point is, Google does not allow you to make money from adsense if you were disabled earlier. However, it has no problem in registering a disabled user, letting them earn some money and then pulling on the plug on them.
